Through the compassion and commitment of our supporters, staff, partners, and volunteers, Hope Plaza/Hope Esperanza takes a bold, innovative and multi-pronged approach to achieve our mission.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a welcoming, multilingual, and healing-centered space where individuals and families, particularly those who are low-income, immigrant, or otherwise underserved, can access resources, education, and community support. We focus on increasing access, empowering youth and families, and fostering a more connected and resilient community.

Our Vision

To be a central hub in Western Washington where all community members have access to essential resources and services, fostering inclusivity, equality, and wellbeing.

Our Values

  • Human Dignity & Rights: Treating every individual with respect and upholding their fundamental rights regardless of language or place of birth.

  • Equity & Social Justice: Removing systemic barriers to vital community resources like food, shelter, advocacy, and support.

  • Community-Centered Empowerment: Centering the leadership and expertise of the most vulnerable themselves and providing tools for self-sufficiency.

  • Solidarity & Welcome: Fostering community, empathy, and welcoming environments, especially when defending against injustices.

  • Collaboration & Partnership: Partnering with other organizations to provide comprehensive, holistic support (e.g., Legal, Social Services).

  • Integrity & Transparency: Upholding ethical standards to maintain trust within the community.

Mission & Vision

A young boy with short dark hair and a blue hoodie sits on a red armchair, holding a beige blanket with a black and gray leaf pattern. Behind him is a small decorated Christmas tree, a window with a view of trees and houses, and Christmas presents wrapped in festive wrapping paper.
